  1. Canggu

    1. Canggu was probably my favourite area we stayed in while visiting Bali. We spent most of our time trying different cafes, smoothies, and local food spots. Our villa had a pool, so a lot of the trip was honestly just tanning by the pool and relaxing between meals. One of my favourite foods I tried was nasi goreng, which is a really popular Indonesian fried rice dish. We also had dinner at YUKI one night and the sushi was actually so good.

  2. Nusa Penida

    1. Day trip to Nusa Penida, which is a small island near Bali. We visited a bunch of famous beaches and lookout spots around the island, and the views honestly looked unreal in person. It was extremely hot and definitely a long day, but I still think it was one of the most worth-it parts of the trip.

  3. Uluwatu

    1. We spent our last day in Uluwatu and I honestly wish we stayed there longer. It had a similar vibe to Canggu, but the beaches were even prettier. Everything felt a little more relaxed and scenic, especially near the cliffs and beaches.

  4. Ubud

    1. We did a day trip to Ubud where we visited the monkey forest and the rice fields. It felt really different from the beach areas and was much more peaceful and surrounded by nature. Seeing the rice terraces in person was so pretty and definitely something I’d recommend doing if you visit Bali.

If you have time while studying abroad in Sydney, I’d definitely recommend visiting Bali. It’s such an easy trip from Australia and ended up being one of my favourite travel memories from semester abroad.
