Feb 2nd: HNL to SYD

My friend and I finally made it to Sydney after a nine hour journey and landed around 7 pm, Feb 3rd. If you’re arriving late at night, definitely pack a set of sheets and a blanket in your suitcase. We thought we would have enough energy to go out and buy everything once we landed, but we were way too exhausted. I ended up sleeping in my friend’s room with only a towel as a blanket, which was not the most comfortable first night, but it’s already a funny memory from the start of the trip.

Feb 4th: AP Bakery & Fish Market

We started the day with a little café run at AP Bakery near the dorms. We ordered the Muffaletta sandwich and the fig, ricotta almond Danish, along with a matcha latte and a dirty chai. The sandwich and pastry were a 10 out of 10, but I would probably skip the drinks next time.

Later that day, we met up with a high school friend from Hawaii who moved to Sydney for college and caught up at the fish market.

NEW ZEALAND

The next morning we headed to the airport to fly to Christchurch. Our flight ended up getting delayed, but we randomly got upgraded to premium economy on our Emirates flight, so flew in luxury.

Christchurch List

  1. Goodley Hike

  2. Christchurch Gondola

  3. Botanical Garden

  4. Rollickin Gelato

But the highlight of the trip was our tour bus from Christchurch to Queenstown via Lake Tekapo and Mt Cook

Queenstown List

  3. Town Hopping

To be honest we couldn't do much in Queenstown because we didn't have a car
